Bridge Building Crew
Needed for Saturday - 9/19/09
We spent last weekend cutting over 100 sign post tops and staining them. Thank you Roger for your help and we also thank White Mountain Lumber for donating the posts!
We also found out that the beavers seem to have left their dam on the Berlin Trail. This is probably due to low water since there is only a few inches of water left in the area.
We are planning to build a couple of bridges on this trail to deal with the water issues. The problem is that one of these sites is muddy so it will require quite a bit of manpower to carry the materials about 200' into the site. If we can get enough help, the project should be done in 3 or 4 hours.
Materials to bring: Please bring your own lunch and drinks. If you have an ATV, please bring it since it is about a mile ride into the bridge site. However if you do not have an ATV, don't worry - we will get you a ride. Also bring rubber boots, rubber gloves and a long handle shovel if you have them.
Meeting Info: Meet at 8:30am at the White Mt. Ridge Runners clubhouse on Rt. 110 in Berlin, NH - across from Jericho Motorsports about 3 miles west of Berlin center.
Accommodations: We have free accommodations available for those who want to come up for trail work. Please send email to larry@twolakeslodge.com or call Larry at 508-366-1172.
