RTP Grant
Program Extended
to 2010December 28,

As you may recall, the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) is
funded by the gas taxes we pay on the gas we put in our snowmobiles.
The program is run through the Federal Highway Administration -- and expired
on September 30, 2009. It had been extended and expired again on
December 18, 2009.
On December 19, 2009 the RTP funds were again extended, this
time through a Department of Defense appropriations bill. Included in
the Department of Defense bill was a continuing resolution that allows the
government to disburse money under the terms known as SAFETEA-LU and
extended the law until February 28, 2010.
