July 25, 2010
Berlin Daily Sun
BERLIN — Can-Am, the division of Bombadier Recreational
Products, Inc. that manufactures and distributes four-wheel, side-by-side and
roadster ATVs, is the title sponsor for the Can-Am Jericho ATV Festival on July
10. and 11, which is being held in Jericho Mountain State Park in Berlin.
Announcement of the sponsorship was made by Nancy Clark of Glen Group, which is
overseeing management and promotion of the event. “We’re pleased that Can-Am,
one of the world’s premier ATV manufacturers, is the title sponsor for this firs-ever
event. I think that Can-Am’s sponsorship reflects the kind of reception an event
of this caliber is going to have among ATV enthusiasts.”
Two full days of family-friendly fun are planned for the free event, including
ATV and trail bike activities, a Poker Run, guided tours, kids’ activities, demo
rides on some of the latest Can-Am ATV models, on site food concessions, and
much more.
“We’ve received tremendous support from area businesses and ATV clubs,” said
Chris Gamache of the New Hampshire Trails Bureau, which is hosting the event.
“In addition to Can-Am, the North Country’s largest ATV and side-by-side dealer,
Absolute PowerSports of Gorham, New Hampshire, and Wells River, Vermont, has
signed on as our presenting sponsor. Cannon Mountain, which is part of Franconia
Notch State Park, is providing support for the event, as well. Other sponsors
include Dalton Mountain Motorsports, Profile Powersports, Freedom Cycle and the
National Guard—and without them all, it wouldn’t be possible to provide an event
of this scope for free.”
The event will run from 8a.m. to 4p.m. on Saturday, July 10, and from 8a.m. to
3p.m. on Sunday, July 11. The Can-Am Jericho ATV Festival is part of a key
initiative designed to bolster and stabilize the economy of Coos County and
establish it as an outdoor recreation center. It is being held at New
Hampshire’s newest state park. With 7,500 acres and more than 50 miles of scenic
trails, Jericho Mountain State Park is designed to become a year-round
off-highway recreational vehicle (OHRV) hub for the North Country region.
Any ATV or trail bike that will be used only at the event— that is, within
Jericho Mountain State Park, the Cross-City Trail and the Success Trail— will
not need a New Hampshire registration during the Festival.
